Love The Lord With All Your Heart, Soul and Mind

Youth Ministry

With summer in full swing our youth group has been as busy as it has been hot!! Our church hosted our annual Vacation Bible School June 27th-30th. The youth were involved from the beginning. We worked with our Children’s Ministry going door to door passing out information flyers before VBS. The students also worked hard during the week wherever they were needed to help the children learn more about the love of Jesus!!
We started a busy July with our annual trip to Minute Maid Park to watch the Houston Astros! We had a great time and rooted hard for the Astros but it was just not their night.
Youth Camp July 11th-15th at ETBE in Newton was fantastic!! This year’s theme was a challenge to students to “Wake Up!!” for the return of Jesus is closer now than ever!! The speaker was Tim Ramsey he was super and one of our students said “its like he is reading my mind!!” I think it just proves God knows what teenagers need to hear. The band was The Micah Tyler Band, they did a great job of not only leading worship but challenging the students to worship sincerely. I know the students also enjoyed the rec games, the high ropes course, archery, and skeet shooting, but I feel the best part of camp was our church group share time! This was when our group openly prayed for and encouraged each other, it was amazing to be part of!! You could feel God’s presence in our share time. God did a mighty work throughout the camp. A number of students were saved and two from our youth group accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior!!! It was powerful to witness!!
As August starts we turn our attention to preparing for the upcoming school year! (insert big groan here!!) I look forward to seeing what God has planned for our Youth Ministry this upcoming school year!! You should come be a part for all the fun....Sunday School starts at 9:15, Sunday Evening starts at 6:00 and Wednesday night starts at 6:30.
