#4 THE JUDGMENT OF THE NATIONS (MATTHEW 25:31-46)

Remember this is not the Great White Throne of judgment at the end.

1. The judgment of the nations will take place (V.31)

THE GLORIOUS APPEARING 2^ND COMING (Matthew 24:29-31)

2. At this judgment, Christ will judge the living nations (Joel 3:11-16)

Satan, his Antichrist, the false prophets, and the millions they deceived will be cast into the lake of fire.

3. At this judgment there will be no resurrection of the dead.

4. At this judgment, the judge is specifically Christ “the King” (V.34)

5. At this judgment, no books will be opened.

6. At this judgment, there is three classes judged.

a. “Sheep”---the saved (V.33); Revelation 7:9-17)

Believers who survive the tribulation.

b. “Goats”---the unsaved (V.33)( II Thessalonians 1:7-10)

Followers of Antichrist and unsaved

c. “the brethren”---the elect of Israel (V.40) (Revelation 7:1-8)

(Romans 11:25-28)

7. At this judgment, the King will give the kingdom to those who have eternal life.

8. (Revelation 19:11-16)

When Christ comes, as the righteous warrior, He will be invincible. He will consume all before Him, all that stand in opposition to Him, and bring every person into subjection. This will be the first clearly righteous war in the history of humankind. The ability of Christ to wage a righteous war is not only seen in His holy nature, but in that His eyes are “like blazing fire,” indicating that He will judge according to the truth. The best judge on earth cannot know all the facts of a given situation because he or she is limited by human frailty. Jesus Christ is not limited. He who knows the end from the beginning will be a righteous Judge, for His all seeing eyes will reveal all truth about every individual and nation.

9. THE ARMIES OF CHRIST: The armies of heaven consist of the angelic host, the Old Testament saints, the church, and the Tribulation saints. The battle will be carried out by the spoken Word of our Lord Himself.

This glorious appearing of Christ will not only bring to consummation the enmity of Satan, Antichrist, false prophet, and the millions they deceive, but it will usher in the Millennial Kingdom, the righteous reign of Christ on Earth.
